Volvo VCADS pro problem and solution

There is the software installation video in the CD, follow the video to install the software step by step. Do not miss any steps, otherwise you may get error prompt:

1: After i install the VOLVO VCARDS pro software ready, i put in the user name and password, it prompt me “This user is not authorized to run this software on htis PC. Contact your local administrator.”. How to solve this problem?

There is the TXT file in the CD, called “How to use”. Find this file, open it, then you will see the user ID (m333422). Copy it and fill it in the blanks. For password, do not fill anything. Just ignore it. Then click “connectivity options”, you will see other 3 options. Then tick in the option “Work offline”. Finally click “OK” button.

This installation is also shown on the video. Just follow the video to install the software.

2 I install the truckdiagnostic tool software on XP system. Use RS232 cable to connect the device with my computer. But i get ERROR prompt “10104″. Just like this photo shown. When I plug the unit into the truck diagnostic port the power light is on and the blue USB light flashes very fast in a random sequence. Where is wrong? I check the connection, every place is right. But computer still cannot recognize the hardware.

Your problem is that you do not setup the COM port. Although the connection is right. You still need to setup the COM port is the consistent with your computer. There is the guide on the video. Please follow the video do.

Volvo VCADS Pro 2.40 offer a Windows-based diagnostic application called PTT. PTT is a toolbox that bundles diagnostic (VCADS) and repair applications (Guided Diagnostics) together making it a one stop shop for the technicians. The main purpose of PTT is to support the diagnostic & repair process and to make it easier for technicians to work with the tools provided. PTT provides access to vehicle and parameter programming, service information and diagnostics.

In addition,  you can download the VCADS Elite and installed it on a PC. Then connect the PC to the communication connector in the vehicle via the communication interface. VCADS Elite is a windows – Base software tool developed to test, calibrate and program parameters on Volvo ECUs. VCADS Elite provides tests and calibrations for VOLVO vehicles that are equipped with the Vehicle Electronics ’98(VECTRO II) or Version 2 electronic control systems. The application consists of a number of standard graphical interfaces, such as graphs and continuous displays of parameters values. The operations are organized in the menu according to function groups.

Volvo truck diagnostic tool VCADS Pro 2.35 VS. VCDAS Pro 2.40

I have been thinking about buy a Volvo truck diagnostic tool a long time ago. And now I have narrow down my chice to two alternatives: Volvo VCADS Pro 2.35 and VCDAS Pro 2.40. What is the difference between them? Can you give me some advices?

The two devices are very similar as they are made by the same manufactuer. The difference mainly lies out of the quality.

1.          They have different use ID, For more details, please watch the video demo in the CD.

2.          Volvo VCADS V2.40 can diagnose trucks with 16pin diagnostic socket, while Version 2.35 cannot.
